Financial education has been a large part of what we do at Quayside for some time. Approached by an ex-teacher, we were asked to attend Crypt School in Gloucester to give our own experiences on financial services, how to set out in your career and the different pathways you may take to get in to full tie employment. Alex being a University finisher and Mia who joined Quayside as an apprentice both shared their own experiences of getting in to full time employment, the pitfalls as well as the celebrations each have had along the way to a room for approximately 20 students.
Some great questions were asked and it’s clear Crypt are certainly sending these young adults in to the world with the best real world experiences they can. Following the talk we also had one of the students Johnny Fenley join the office for a week. He spent time with Mia, Jordan, Liam, Alex and Adam. Learning the basics of how an office works, some of the core foundations for financial planning, joining Alex in client meetings, attending a presentation by Amelia and even learning how to tie a double windsor before his week was up. Johnny confirmed it was a great experience for him and we can certinaly say as a team it was also a great experience for us to able to support the Gloucester School Community and Johnny himself.
