Around the County with Quayside - British Polo Gin

Theres more to Gloucestershire than Financial Advice.  As Financial Advisers in Gloucester we’re proud of what else our county has to offer and this is our chance to showcase it… We have successfully launched ‘Around the County with Quayside’ and what a great start it was.

The idea is to showcase some of the great food and drink the county has to offer, sharing the experience with wonderful people who we believe will benefit from knowing each other. At the event, attendees can enjoy relaxed conversations over a glass of gin or wine, or indulge in some excellent locally produced food, drink or even ice cream. The event successfully fostered new connections, enabled knowledge exchange, and created opportunities for collaboration and professional growth.

The first event saw Rich Hine from British Polo Gin – a bit about British Polo Gin:

1. Founded in 2016 after founder, Rich Hine, identified that the first British Polo Players were the first to drink gin with their tonic water ration in India (late 1850s).

2. Five months after launch in July 2016, British Polo Botanical Gin awarded Spirit of the Month at Fortnum and Mason to coincide with the Christmas season

3. Eighteen months after launch, British Polo Botanical Gin was awarded Best Gin in the UK by the Guild of Fine Foods

4. Eight years after launch there are now 5 gins and 1 spiced rum in the stable with all products made here in the Cotswolds to organic specification

5. Alongside producing lovely organic gin and rum in Burford, an increasingly large portion of the business is running specialist event bars across the country. The bar projections are always bespoke and tailored to each event. The stock list is not limited to spirits, with a real focus on sourcing local and British where possible. For 2024 we will be the official bar providers once more for Thoresby, Burghley Boutique, Cornbury & Osberton Horse Trials alongside running bars at a wide range of private, corporate and publicly attended events, both in The Cotswolds and wider afield
