The Co-Locaters Cup - Supporting Gloucestershire Young Carers

Business Manager of Griffiths Marshall Accountants, Kate Barrett organised for Quayside to take part in a small charity football tournament, each team donating funds for the winning teams charity of choice.

The three teams represented the three companies from our Forest of Dean Lydney Office, Quayside Wealth Management, Griffiths Marshall Accountants and Tayntons Solicitors. Each team played to win for their charity of choice, we of course were playing in support of Gloucestershire Young Carers, Griffiths Marshall, The James Hopkins Trust and Tayntons Solicitors, Maggie Centres.

Being a small company comparatively to our competitors, it was agreed we could bolster the team with some other local business professionals. Adam and I were very grateful to Tom and Rob, the Directors of Sure Sales and Lettings Gloucester, their team member Alex, Mike Simmonds, Director of TruGreen Gloucester, Ryan Kell, Brand Visual Manager of Mira Showers and finally Mark Wilton, Relationship Director, Corporate Banking of HSBC all happily agreed to lace up their boots for a good cause.

Sadly on the day the other teams proved too much for the Quayside team, Tayntons picked up a 1-0 win against us winning one of two and Griffiths Marshall also beat us in a thrilling 3-2 which ultimately saw them take home a winning pot of £160.00 for The James Hopkins Trust.

All in all we managed to raise awareness for these three great charities, we’ve since been challenged to further games against local companies and as was always our mission, the charities were the ultimate winners.

We’d like to thank Kate for organising, a special thank you to Spencer McPherson of  Still Moving Media  who managed to capture a great image of our team and of course to all of those named in our team above to try and help us bring home the win.
