The team at Quayside are again, out to raise more money for Charity! We are teaming together with three great Gloucester based businesses to give back to our chosen Charities. Quayside, Griffiths Marshall Accountants, Tayntons Solicitors and Sure Sales & Lettings Gloucester will all be putting on our walking boots to walk from our Gloucester office to our offices based in the Forest of Dean.
The walk itself has been measured to be around 24miles and according to google this will take us up to 8 hours,… but to be kind to everyone involved – (mainly the oldies) we are aiming to complete the trek within approximately 12!
We will again be raising funds for Gloucestershire Young Carers, Sure Sales and Lettings also support this great Charity. To remind you, Young carers are children and young people under the age of 18 who provide regular or ongoing care and/or emotional support to a family member, sacrificing a normal childhood to ensure their loved ones are well and truly looked after. They are selfless individuals who all deserved to be recognised for the actions they do day every single day. Life to them is normal but to us we can see how much they give up and so we believe they deserve to be praised and recognised and if we can give something back to ensure they stay fully supported by the Gloucestershire Young Carers group then the walk will be worth it!
Griffiths Marshal Accountants charity is The James Hopkins Trust. The James Hopkins Trust was established in 1989 and provides free nursing respite care for babies and children, throughout Gloucestershire, up to the age of 5 who have life limiting or life threatening conditions. The team at Kites Corner are amazing people, providing practical and emotional support in a caring and loving environment to over 90 children and families in the Gloucestershire area.
Tayntons Solicitors charity is Maggies - Founded in 1996 in the grounds of an NHS hospital in Edinburgh Maggie’s is named after their inspirational founder, Maggie Keswick Jencks. Maggie lived with advanced cancer for two years and used her experiences to create a blueprint for a new type of care. Her belief that "Above all, what matters is not to lose the joy of living in the fear of dying" has informed everything at our centres, from the beautiful architecture and choice of artwork to the relaxed, welcoming layouts and our warm friendly approach.
