Pedal for Maggie’s

Starting and finish at Maggie’s Cheltenham, Alex set off for 40 miles through beautiful lanes and scenery of the Cotswold’s on one of only two mountain bikes that were certainly not as well cut out for the challenge as many of the others who also turned up on the day.

A novice cyclist, Alex was challenged to undertake the event by two Partners of a local solicitors at very short notice. With no training, they all got their bikes out of their respective garages, tinkered a little and then off they went. There were some challenging up hill cycles to undertake and constantly being passed by those clad in Lycra™, clearly prepared for the day, added to the challenge of keeping the wheels turning but we are pleased to say all three made it raising circa £150.00 for this fantastic charity.

Maggie’s offers the best possible support to those suffering with cancer, by helping to provide professional support for anything from treatment side effects to money worries. They offer a safe space for those with cancer, along with their friends and family to come together in a supportive environment to make cancer more manageable.

Some of you may remember Maggie’s were also supported last year when Alex undertook a 50-mile bike ride around the Cotswolds to support them.
